How we convert WordPress to HTML for free without losing Google rankings

The biggest fear with any website move is losing the Google traffic you already have. Here is the process we follow.

1. Inventory everything

We crawl the current site and record every URL, page title, meta description, heading, image and its alt text, plus the pages that already get search traffic.

2. Keep the same URLs

Wherever possible each page keeps its exact address. Where one has to change, we add a permanent 301 redirect from the old address to the new one, including old image and feed paths that get traffic.

3. Carry over the details

Titles, descriptions, structured data for your business and menu, social sharing tags, favicon and analytics all move with the site. Your business name, address and phone stay exactly as they are on Google Business Profile.

4. Launch and resubmit

We switch DNS, submit the new sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing, and update your Google Business Profile links.

5. Watch for four to six weeks

We monitor Search Console for missing pages and crawl errors and fix any redirect we missed. The old site is kept backed up and offline.

What free means

The conversion is free, and you don't need a managed plan to get it. Online stores and custom-built features are reviewed case by case. Your domain and your content stay yours. Request a free conversion.

Questions

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Rankings depend on many things, but keeping URLs, titles, content and redirects consistent is what protects them in a move. That is the core of our process.
